This is Coffea arabica Gesha. This is, arguably, the finest variety of coffee in the world. This variety is easily recognized because the cherries are not as round as other coffees. They are stretched out into more of a football shape (American football that is). The seeds that I am selling are from Guatemala, but this variety of coffee plant was originally from Gesha, Africa located in Ethiopia. It was introduced into South America almost 100 years ago, and this particular variety, when grown in Panama, is considered by many to be the finest cup of coffee known to man. The closest we can come to perfection is to grow this variety in our own region. This coffee is extremely floral with flavors of honey, fruit, and black tea. For me the orange flavor stands out above all others. If you give this coffee a light roast it tastes very similar to orange juice, but warm. I like it best when it is roasted to a medium. Then there is a hint of roast flavor to let you know that you are drinking coffee, and the other more perfumed flavors are more pronounced. USDA Hardiness Zones 10 to 11
