These seeds are from Rubus moluccanus, also known as Ceylon Blackberry, and Eelkek. This shrub has red, pink, and white blossoms. The red fruit is very tasty and is eaten raw or used to make jellies, jams, and sauces. The fruit can also be used to make a purple or blueish dye. This is a larval host to the Echo Azure butterfly, and the Io and Strawberry Crown Moths. It is also a nectar source for the Appalachian Tiger Swallowtail butterfly and the Slender clearwing moth.
