This is Penstemon pallidus, also known as Pale Beardtongue. This is a white flower but the buds, especially, have a pink tint. This is an early bloomer, and thrives in harsh environments. This plant is fairly resistant to deer and rabbits. It attracts a wide variety of birds, bees, and butterflies. Penstemon, in general, are larval host plants for the Baltimore Checkerspot, Chalcedon Checkerspot, Dotted Checkerspot, Arachne Checkerspot, and Ediths Checkerspot butterflies. This plant likes to live in full sun to partial shade where it blooms from the middle of Spring until early Summer. This plant is Endangered in Illinois and Threatened in Ohio.
