This is Lilium bulbiferum croceum, also known as orange lily, fire lily, and tiger lily. These plants can grow up to about 4 feet high and do well when they are planted in full sun all the way down to light shade. That range of sun conditions makes it possible to put this lily in any garden. Young roots are edible and the slightly sweet bulbs can be used as a potato substitute. USDA Hardiness Zones 6 to 9
