This is Coffea canephora robusta. Forty percent of the coffee produced is this variety. Most Coffee is arabica, but this robusta variety is used as a key element in Italian espresso. Robusta has more caffeine and is less susceptible to pests. It likes to live in light shade and can get about 15 feet high. The white blossoms appear in the middle of the Spring.
