These seeds were collected from Dichrostachys cinerea, also known as Bell Mimosa, Chinese Lantern Tree, Kalahari Christmas Tree, Princess Earrings, Marabou Thorn, and Sickle Bush. This perennial likes to live in full sun to partial shade where it can grow up to 25 feet high. The flowers are fragrant and thriving in the middle of the summer. The fruits and seeds are edible, and many animals eat twigs, leaves, and the pods that fall to the ground. The flowers are used to make honey. The wood is not toxic and can be used as fuel or to make tools and walking sticks. The bark is used to make a strong fiber, and the bark can be removed from the roots, and the the bare roots are used to make shelving and baskets.
