These seeds were collected from Coffea liberica, also known as Liberian coffee. This tropical coffee plant likes to live in full shade to light shade where it can grow up to 20 feet high. This bean is larger than the arabica species. The liberica beans are also more expensive because they are harder to find. The coffee is sweeter than arabica or robusta. Coffea plants in general are a food source for the Red-bordered Pixie butterfly, and a larval host for the Half-blind sphinx moth. USDA Hardiness Zones 10 to 11.
