Here, I am offering seeds from Echinacea purpurea Doubledecker, also known as purpurea Doppelganger. This plant likes the full sun so much that it should be planted somewhere where it will get at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. If you do this the plants will form strong communities. This plant was originally called purpurea Doppelganger when it was discovered in Germany by Eugene Schleipfer. This seed is a result of many years of artificial selection. There may be some single blooms in the first year, but the double blooms have a higher percentage the following years. Every now and then you can get an old single bloom. Similar seed strains exist but this one came directly from the work of Eugene Schleipfer. The leaves and petals of this plant are edible. This plant attracts the American Lady, Giant Swallowtail, Great Spangled Fritillary, Southern Cloudywing, Painted Lady, Pearl Crescent, Red Admiral, Silvery Checkerspot, Spicebush Swallowtail, Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, Variegated Fritillary, Viceroy, Fiery Skipper, Gulf Fritillary, Sachem, and Tawny-edge Skipper butterflies. USDA Hardiness Zones 3 to 9
