This is Dalea candida, also known as White Prairie Clover. This plant grows up to 2 feet tall, where it likes to live in full sun to partial shade. In the Summer time Dalea candida has white blossoms. Native americans used to use the roots for food and the leaves for tea. They also used the roots to help cure stomach aces, and a cure for a rattlesnake bite on sheep. The white prairie clover is a larval host plant for the Marine Blue, Reakirts Blue, Clouded Sulphur, Orange Sulphur, and Southern Dogface butterflies. Bees are especially attracted to White Prairie Clover blossoms. USDA Hardiness Zones 3 to 8.
