This is Camellia sinensis, also known as Tea Plant, Assam tea, and Tea Tree Camellia. Growing up to 8 feet tall this shrub likes to live in full sun to partial shade. From late Summer to early Winter this plant has white blossoms. The Leaves can be mixed with hot water to make tea. The flowers can be used to make tempura, which is a edible oil. There is a tea extract that can be obtained from the dried leaves, which is used to flavor alcoholic beverages, frozen dairy desserts, candy, baked goods, gelatins, and puddings.
