Here I am offering seeds from Malva assurgentiflora, also known as the Island Mallow, Mission Mallow, Royal Mallow, Island Tree Mallow, and Malva Rosa. Lavatera assurgentiflora is an often used synonym. I just love Island Mallow. It is beautifully stunning with its striped leaves and brilliant colors. Malva assurgentiflora is included in the CNPS Inventory of Rare and Endangered Plants. Tree Mallow likes to live in full sun to partial shade where it can grow up to 10 feet tall in ideal conditions. Island Mallow attracts all kinds of birds, bees, and butterflies, including hummingbirds. Tree Mallow is a larval host plant for the West Coast Lady, Tropical Checkered-Skipper, Northern White-Skipper, Desert Checkered-Skipper and, Gray Hairstreak butterflies. Malva assurgentiflora is also resistant to drought and deer. USDA Hardiness Zones 9 to 11
