This is Ficus rumphii. The fruit and the young leaves can both be eaten cooked or raw. The bark is used to make cord and the wood is burned as fuel or used to make charcoal. This tree likes to live in full sun where it can grow to 40 feet high. It attracts a wide variety of birds, bees, and butterflies. Ficus, in general, are larval host plants for the Fig sphinx moth, and the Antillean Daggerwing butterfly. USDA Hardiness Zones 9b to 11.
